The Economic Value of Green Infrastructure

Researchers have found a way to place value on green infrastructure. Green infrastructure is difficult to define, but a network of open space, parks, and trees that enhance the environment are some examples.  Benefits to the “Total Economic Value” mentioned in the report include health and environmental related savings, while costs include development and construction costs. The researchers found, that after studying a cycle route in Bruges, Belgium the estimated benefits were roughly €5.6 million over a 20 year period. Click below to see more.
