The TRACE project, funded through the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, tracks usage of walking and cycling as methods of transportation. This will expand the knowledge base of these methods of transit, helping to better develop walking and cycling measures and initiatives.
The eight pilot locations – Breda (NL), Agueda (PT), Southend-on-Sea Borough (UK), Bologna (IT), Esch (LU), Belgrade (RS), Plovdiv (BG), and Belgium – will be evaluated on their impact, success factors, and commercial exploitation. After a period of data collection, the project will assess and determine how tracking services can optimise the planning and implementation of walking and cycling.
