Over a long career in environmental health, George has worked in local government; in Academia at the Universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow; as a Consultant in Environmental Health with the National Health Service in Scotland and as a Scientific Policy Adviser to Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer. Now working independently, George continues to collaborate on many aspects of environment and human health with, amongst others, the World Health Organisation, the European Environment Agency, Public Health England, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and Environment (RIVM).
With a commitment to reflecting a much richer understanding of the environment in public health policy, George continues to participate in research and publish widely in peer reviewed journals.
