The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu [RIVM]) is a governmental research institute providing policy support to the Dutch government. RIVM promotes public health, and a healthy and safe living environment by conducting research, evaluating and supporting policy, coordinating intervention programs and providing information to professionals and the general public. Our main areas of expertise are public health, infectious diseases, nutrition and food safety and the environment.
