HEAT-SHIELD is studying the effects of workers’ exposure to increased workplace temperature in five major industries: manufacturing, construction, transportation, tourism and agriculture. Being a consequence of climate change, this issue has a negative impact on health.
The research initiative funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme aims to address this matter by providing adaptation strategies on how to ensure the health of the workforce in European industries.
