International study: Linking urban environments and physical activity

The International Physical Activity and Environment Network (IPEN) developed an international study in 14 cities across 10 countries (Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, China (Hong Kong), Mexico, New Zealand, the UK and the USA) to measure the levels of physical activity in relation to the urban environment.
Living in an activity-friendly neighborhood can provide between 32-59 percent of the 150 minutes of weekly physical activity that is recommended for adults to maintain good health.
