The Common Analytical Framework (CAF) will comprise of different components that are mutually connected and will serve as a framework that can be used to think about and communicate the complex relationships inherent to this project. It will facilitate understanding of how policies and interventions can affect causal pathways between environmental stressors, behaviours and health equity and include contextual factors. It will also provide guidance on how multi-sector policies and interventions can be evaluated and valued economically. The CAF will include (1) an integrated conceptual framework, including an analytical model, a governance model and an action and evaluation model (2) a set of qualitative and quantitative indicators and (3) a set of health, environment and social impact assessment tools and cost-effectiveness methods. The CAF provides the building blocks for all research strands throughout the INHERIT project.
